Fairy Dust Lace Club

Introducing the Fairy Dust Lace Club!

Come visit a fairy world of enchantment, filled with bright, shiny things, where fairy dust is floating and swirling around you.

This club features 6 months of Goddess Knits designs paired with Decadently Divine yarn in colorways fit for a fairy. With each shipment you will receive an original, exclusive pattern, enough divine lace yarn to complete the project and some extra shiny things such as beads, buttons, and bells, along with a coordinating stitch marker. All patterns, and colorways, will remain exclusive to the club for 6 months after the delivery of each monthly kit.

Two New Classes Available!

Now available for enrollment, Advanced Shawl Design:

With this 6-week class you will learn how to design a shawl using advanced design skills.
Lessons will include:

• How to design different shawl shapes including square, circular, hexagon, and Faroese.
• How to modify different shapes.
• How to incorporate an edging into your design.
• How to customize stitches to create unique designs.

Prerequisites required:

• You must have taken the Design Your Own Shawl class; or at minimum:
• Have knowledge of how to design a basic top-down triangular shawl.
• Have knowledge of how to write a chart using Excel or other knitting software.
• Have knowledge of how to format a pattern to include basic instructions along with design charts.

An email will be sent to you, the week prior to the start of class, with the link to the class site where you will need to register for the class.

This class will begin Monday, September 10, 2012 and end Sunday, October 21, 2012. Orders will be taken until Sunday, September 9, 2012.

With this 3-week class you will learn how to knit a basic sock with some minimal options.
Lessons will include:

• How to knit a basic, top-down sock
• How to adjust a basic sock pattern to fit your foot
• How to make a heel flap and basic toe
• How to make a short-row heel and toe

Prerequisites required:

• Basic knitting skills - how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.
• Ability to knit in the round with double-point needles.
• Ability to read a written knitting pattern.

Needing Online File Management?

I'll try to make this not seem like an ad :)

I needed an online file management resource so I came across one called Dropbox. What I liked about it was that I got a good amount of free space, I don't really need a lot right now, plus you can access your files from anywhere you have an internet connection - including any internet capable devices, such as your phone or iPad. You can upload any type of content - photos, videos, PDF files, other document files - and you can share folders for other people to view. You don't have to go to the website to upload your files, and you don't have to use FTP to upload anything. You can install the software on your computer, then you can copy files directly to the Dropbox folders on your desktop. Whenever you add new files, it automatically updates all of your locations (computer, iPad, etc). Plus they have a free app on iTunes to download. There are also ways to earn additional free space, right away, including referring other people.

So, I'm posting My Link here. If you use my link to sign up for a free account - I did mention it was FREE right? - you will automatically get an extra 500mb of space on your account (and so will I). Then you can earn more free space for your account by completing a few tasks, and referring other people!

You will need to install the desktop application on your computer, after you sign up, before the free storage space is applied.

Zoya Share the Love

Okay, I don't normally do this because it seems fake but here goes:

If you haven't heard of Zoya, it's a brand of nail polish, created in 1986, that has no toxic ingredients such as toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, and DBP (dibutyl phthalate). They have tons of colors and come out with new collections each season. They also have other nail care and skin care products that are salon quality. You should check them out!

Time for a Change

I decided to update my blog. I've had the same template since I started it, forever ago. Since Blogger updated their format I felt like I wanted to update mine, especially since I'm planning on changing my logo soon.

I've also been thinking about writing more about me and not just what I'm selling. So we'll see how that goes! I don't seem to have much time to think, let alone write anything down.

Still trying to get things caught up with my clubs, working on the Decadently Dark Sock Club May sock now. Just got all the Birthstone and Zodiac yarns ready to mail out for May, on their way to the post office in the morning. Then I'll just have the May Jewelbox and Avalon patterns to finish, then dyeing for next month's stuff, plus try to get patterns finished for the Spare Parts KAL and dye yarn for the Mystery Shawl #28.

You know how things tend to snowball? Well that's what happened. It started way back in December, my husband was sick for 2 weeks so I got behind on my dyeing, which put me behind on getting patterns finished, then it was just behind, behind, behind...then other family issues, my own health issues, and the further behind I got.

So here I am, almost caught up, hoping to get a head start on this month!

Pick Your Poison Sock Club

Introducing the Pick Your Poison Sock Club!

This 6-month club is a yarn only club featuring semi-solid colorways in your choice of color palette. Each month, members will receive a new skein of basic sock yarn dyed in a different colorway from their chosen palette. Yarn bases will be wool, or wool blend, and have a minimum of 400yds per 100gr skein, which should be enough for an average pair of socks (or mitts).

• Club installments will be shipped monthly from September 2012 through February 2013.

Now available for enrollment is the Design Your Own Shawl class.

With this 5-week class you will learn the basics of designing your own lace shawl using the basic triangle shape.
Lessons will include:

• How to layout your design using charts
• How to modify stitch patterns to fit within your chart
• How to choose different stitch patterns that will compliment each other.

Prerequisites required:

• Basic knitting skills - how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.
• Knowledge of basic lace knitting.
• Also recommended is some knowledge of Excel, though it is not required.

An email will be sent to you, the week prior to the start of class, with the link to the class site where you will need to register for the class.

This class will begin Monday, July 2, 2012 and end Sunday, August 5, 2012. Orders will be taken until Saturday, July 1, 2012.
